Community Services

Sunning Hill Retreat is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rooted in a mission of service. We believe that when one person finds renewal, the ripple touches the whole community. Our work is built on that belief—creating spaces where individuals can rest, recharge, and return to daily life with a lighter heart and a clearer mind.

Here, balance is not a luxury; it’s a shared resource. We offer accessible programs, partner with our local community, and welcome you to be part of this mission—whether by joining a retreat, volunteering your time, or supporting our outreach. Together, we can create a culture of kindness that extends far beyond our gates.

Healing in the Community

Community Outreach

Our mission doesn’t end at our gates—it flows outward, into the heart of our community. Through our Meditation in the Community program, we bring free mindfulness and art meditation workshops directly to those who need them most, partnering with local centers and organizations, including hospitals, cultural spaces, and veterans’ groups.

We also open our estate for free seasonal gatherings, inviting our Long Island and NYC neighbors to experience moments of calm, creativity, and connection. In this way, Sunning Hill becomes not just a retreat, but a shared sanctuary—one where the spirit of renewal belongs to all.

Partnership
We believe that meaningful change is rarely achieved alone. That’s why we partner with mission-aligned organizations to extend the reach and depth of our work.

Together, we design experiences that respond directly to the needs of the people we serve—whether it’s supporting those on the front lines, helping founders regain balance and clarity, or co-creating uplifting cultural programs for the public.

Our collaborations span leading medical systems, corporations, VC firms, and cultural institutions such as museums and art galleries. By combining our sensory-based Art of Mindful Living approach with your organization’s expertise and reach, we co-create programs that are not only impactful, but deeply human.

If your organization shares our vision of fostering inner strength, creativity, and connection, we invite you to join us in shaping initiatives that leave a lasting mark on both individuals and communities.

Making Healing Accessible

Scholarship Fund

At Sunning Hill, we believe that the gift of renewal should be within reach for everyone. Our Scholarship & Community Fund makes this possible. Sustained by two sources—the revenue from every paying guest, and the generosity of our donor community—this fund opens our gates to those who need it most.

Through it, we reserve a portion of our program spots at significantly reduced rates or free of charge, with priority given to those serving on the front lines of our communities—healthcare workers, teachers, and others in high-pressure service roles. It’s our way of ensuring that those who care for others also have a place to rest, restore, and be supported in return.
